EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — A minor in Alamogordo, New Mexico, was referred to the Juvenile Probation and Parole Officer for alleged “misuse of fire” after the Fire Department in that city responded to a small fire in an alleyway, fire officials said in a news release.

The Alamogordo Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in an alleyway just after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30 along Snow Drive.

When firefighters arrived, no smoke or flames were visible. Another fire unit arrived on the scene and found a small area of grass adjacent to an arroyo had been burnt, the Alamogordo Fire Department said.

No active fire was found and no property was damaged.

The minor, no age or gender given, was not arrested but was referred to the Juvenile Probation and Parole Office for whatever action that agency determines is needed, a fire official in Alamogordo said.
