    Univesity of Akron women's basketball star Reagan Bass transfers to Purdue

    Former University of Akron women's basketball star Reagan Bass announced on social media Thursday night that she is transferring to Purdue University.

    Bass, a 6-foot-1 forward, heads to Purdue for her senior year after being an All-Mid-American Conference selection during the past three years at Akron . She played her first two seasons under former Akron coach Melissa Jackson and this past season under current Zips coach Ryan Gensler .

    Bass averaged 16.4 points and 9.9 rebounds in 35.0 minutes per game and was second-team All-MAC in 2024 . She started all 29 games.

    Bass was first-team All-MAC as a sophomore in 2022-23 . She started all 30 games and averaged 17.1 points and 7.7 rebounds in 29.9 minutes.

    Bass was honorable mention All-MAC as a freshman, appearing in 26 games (25 starts) and averaging 12.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 27.1 minutes.

    Bass ends her Akron career with 1,301 points, 673 rebounds, 99 assists, 86 blocks and 71 steals in 85 games (84 starts). She shot 51.3% from the field and 77.7% from the foul line line.

    Bass also was a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree. She is majoring in civil engineering and has a 3.67 GPA.

    Bass starred at Strongsville High School and graduated as its all-time leading scorer with 1,408 points.
