More upgrades coming to Cascades Falls through new capital campaign
JACKSON COUNTY, MI -- A fundraising campaign to pay for the reconstruction of one of Jackson’s oldest landmarks is in its early stages. Roughly $3-million is needed to upgrade Jackson’s Cascades Falls, Jackson County officials estimate. A rough breakdown of the cost provided by the county’s Parks Board allocates about $2 million to structural improvements, $400,000 to $600,000 for mechanical improvements and about $140,000 for upgrades to the electrical system.

Suspected bank robber arraigned after U.S. Marshals arrest him hiding in Illinois
JACKSON, MI – Federal agents located in Illinois a man suspected of robbing a bank in Jackson and brought him back to the city to face charges. Jarred Lamoyne Mihaila was arraigned Monday, May 13, on one count of bank robbery in connection with a hold-up March 6 at a branch of America One Credit Union at 718 E. Michigan Ave., court records show.
