Grand Rapids to match funds for resident projects aimed at bettering community
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids residents can now apply for city dollars to make their projects aimed at bettering the community a reality. Residents, informal resident groups and community-based organizations can apply for the latest round of the city’s Neighborhood Match Fund through June 30 at this link.

Several taken into custody after fight at Kent County homicide hearing
GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- At least three people were taken into custody following a fight in a Grand Rapids courtroom during a homicide hearing. The fight happened about 9:15 a.m. Friday, May 31 in Judge Kellen Dotson’s courtroom on the eighth floor of the Kent County courthouse in downtown Grand Rapids.
Hudsonville softball advances to regional with 8-1 district win
ZEELAND, Mich. — Hudsonville softball earned a revenge win over Jenison in the district championship on Saturday. Eagles win it 8-1. The Eagles kicked off their scoring with a two run home run in the top of the first inning from Elly Koopman. Jenison responded with an RBI single from Alli Wright, allowing Claire Merritt to score, cutting the lead to one.
