From the archives: Aerial footage shows devastation from deadly 2008 tornado in Parkersburg, Iowa
PARKERSBURG, Iowa — On May 25, 2008, a powerful EF5 wedge tornado, with winds topping out at 205 mph, devastated parts of northeast Iowa. In Parkersburg, 280 homes were wiped from their foundations, and 22 businesses were destroyed. The storm caused $100 million in damage. Nine people were killed and 70 more were injured.
