    Summary: SEVERE STORMS TODAY?

The big question for today is will we manage to see any storms? The storm prediction center is hinting once again at that chance. However, latest data shows a VERY LOW chance of storm initiation. The culprit? A CAP, a warm layer of air above the surface preventing storms from growing. If the CAP holds we could end the night with clear conditions.

Temperature remain mostly the same tomorrow with a weak cold front into Tuesday as a dry-line peaks the temperatures by Wednesday into the 90’s. Another cold front by Thursday brings breezy wind and cooler than normal temperatures through the back half of the week. Into this weekend we bring back storm chances in time for Mother’s day.

NWS meteorologists continue to work hard to determine the strength of the Hawley/Hodges tornado. Preliminary data shows an EF-3 or greater with discussions with more experts on whether or not it stays at an EF-3 or not.

Today: Mostly cloudy with skies clearing, humid and breezy with temperatures above average. High Temperature: 88° Winds: SSW 15 G 25 MPH

Tonight: Mostly clear with a seasonal and breezy night. Low Temperature: 58° Winds: SSW 5-15 G 20 MPH
