Upcoming K-14 ramp closures set in Reno County
RENO COUNTY — The entrance ramp from Fourth Avenue to southbound K-14 is expected to close Monday, May 13, and reopen around 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15. The exit ramp from southbound K-14 to Sixth Avenue is expected to close Wednesday, May 15, and reopen around 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18.

Placemaking expert in Hutchinson Monday
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kristin Beal with Harvester Arts Project who coordinates their Gallery Place Project will be visiting Hutchinson on May 13. This workshop is open to the community, and they encourage you to attend. Church in the Dirt this weekend
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Saltcity Cowboy Church is holding its annual Church in the Dirt this weekend at the McCullough Arena, 4702 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. This year, the theme is God of Possible. Saturday evening will start at 5 p.m. with yard games, a kids corral with toddler friendly activities and horse back rides, and a dunk tank. At 6 p.m. there will be a free will donation hamburger feed. At 7 p.m. there will be a worship service followed by a handful of testimonies from members.

Cosmosphere to be Blue Star Museum this summer
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Cosmosphere will join museums nationwide in the Blue Star Museums initiative, a program that provides free admission to the Cosmosphere’s Hall of Space Museum, including CosmoKids, to currently-serving U.S. military personnel and their families this summer. The 2024 program will begin on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, 2024, and end on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024.
2024 Summer meals start May 28
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 Summer Meal Program will run from May 28, 2024, through July 26, 2024. There will be no meals served on July 4, 2024, and July 5, 2024. The locations will be at Hutchinson Middle School – 7, Fairgrounds Splash Park, and the Hutchinson Public Library.
StartUp Hutch helps with Helmuth Bakery transition
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Salt City Foods, owned by Eric Beachy, has signed a loan agreement to acquire Helmuth Bakery, a local business in Hutchinson. StartUp Hutch played a pivotal role in preparing Eric for this endeavor through its Entrepreneurship Business Basics (EBB) JUMP program. This 12-week intensive course equips aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to start and manage a business. Eric's participation in the program provided him with valuable insights and coaching, preparing him for the process of acquiring Helmuth Bakery.
