Aspirus Health adds two oncology clinicians at Medford
MEDFORD – Aspirus Health recently added two new clinicians to its cancer care services at Aspirus Medford Hospital and Clinic. Thomas Oliver, DO, earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, Pennsylvania. He completed an internal medicine fellowship at Lankenau Medical Center, Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, Arizona. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Creepy, crawly and in the post: Researchers asking Wisconsinites to mail in ticks
After a hike through the woods or a walk through a field, it’s not unusual in Wisconsin to find a tick crawling on yourself or a furry friend. Now, scientists at the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute hope residents will put those creepy-crawlies to good use through a new citizen science project. They’re asking Wisconsinites who find ticks to drop them into the mail instead of the trash.
City kid shares dairy passion
COLBY, Wis. – As a city kid it would’ve been easy for Ella Raatz to choose a path outside agriculture. But the 17-year-old junior at Colby High School has developed a passion for the dairy industry. Recently she was recognized as one of eight finalists for Holstein USA’s Young Distinguished Junior Member award. The recognition honors youth ages 9 to 16 who demonstrate a working knowledge of the dairy industry, are role models and good spokespeople for the industry.

Stratford to host ‘Wisconsin Remembers’
May is Historic Preservation Month in Wisconsin, a time to celebrate the preservation of historic places. The Stratford Area Historical Society, Inc. (SAHS) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1991 for the purpose of preserving and sharing knowledge about the history of the Stratford area. SAHS receives no operational funding from the Village of Stratford. SAHS relies on donations to operate the museum.

Marshfield Police: Suspect broke van’s window, stole purse
MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAW) - Police are investigating after a woman said someone broke the driver’s window of her van and stole her purse. Police said it happened between 2-4 p.m. at Joe and Bernadine Weber’s Nature Park in Marshfield. The woman said she was fishing with her children and returned to find the damage.
