This restaurant in Mentor is getting ready for its grand opening

A restaurant in Mentor has announced a grand opening date for its new location.

On April 2, the restaurant El Rodeo closed its doors in Mentor. But thankfully, for fans of the restaurant, the closure turned out to be only temporary. In a recent Facebook post, the restaurant announced it was going to celebrate the grand opening of its new location on Mentor Avenue on June 13.

At the new location, customers can resume getting started on appetizers like buffalo wings, stuffed jalapenos, queso fundido with chorizo, supreme chicken quesadilla (in addition to chicken, the quesadilla comes with lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo), super nachos (which are loaded with chicken, beef, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes), and the El Rodeo sampler, which comes with beef nachos, chicken quesadillas, chicken flautas, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole.

Also on the menu are some salads and soups, including the sopa de Mariscos, which is a seafood soup with shrimp, scallops, tilapia, onions, and tomatoes.

In addition, the restaurant has a variety of fajitas, which are all cooked with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes and are all served with rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes, and tortillas. If you want something with heat, check out the fajitas picantes, which comes with a stir-fry of chicken, beef, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and jalapenos or hot sauce.

El Rodeo also offers a variety of tacos and enchiladas. Some house favorites include arroz con pollo (which is made with grilled chicken, rice, cheese sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream and comes with flour tortillas), mariscada (which consists of grilled shrimp, sea scallops, and tilapia cooked with the restaurant's diablo sauce), carnitas (which feature pork chunks that come with rice, beans, guacamole salad, jalapenos, and tortillas), and chimichangas, which are stuffed with your choice of chicken or beef and are topped with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole.

Also served at El Rodeo are several steak dishes including carne asada, burritos (including the house favorite burrito California, which is stuffed with your choice of grilled chicken or steak, mushrooms, and onions and is topped with cheesy cream sauce and tomatoes), and some vegetarian options like the potato chimichanga.

Do you have room for dessert? The restaurant has fried ice cream, flan, churros, sopapillas, and xango (aka chimichanga cheesecake).
