Six WHA girls’ basketball players receive all-conference awards
The Lady Wolves basketball team celebrated its historic season with an awards banquet held at Tianna last week. Six varsity players were selected to the Northwoods All-Conference teams and the team received many other individual awards. Selected to the First Team were juniors Aubrey Morrison, Avery Morrison and Ava Welk. Itasca County Attorney Adam selected by governor for judge vacancy
Itasca County Attorney Matti Adam has been selected by Gov. Tim Walz to fill the vacancy left in the state’s Ninth Judicial District in Beltrami County, by Judge Shari R. Schluter, who retired in March according to the Bemidji Pioneer. “I am proud to appoint Matti Adam to the Ninth Judicial District,” Gov. Tim Walz said in a release announcing the appointments. “Her years of service as a public servant and her dedication to the people of northwestern Minnesota will make her an excellent addition to the bench,” said Gov. Walz during the announcement. Adam is currently serving in her second term as Itasca County’s chief attorney.

Northern Township has been working on plans to install water and sewer infrastructure on the north and east sides of Lake Bemidji.
