Itasca County Attorney Adam selected by governor for judge vacancy

Itasca County Attorney Matti Adam has been selected by Gov. Tim Walz to fill the vacancy left in the state’s Ninth Judicial District in Beltrami County, by Judge Shari R. Schluter, who retired in March according to the Bemidji Pioneer.

“I am proud to appoint Matti Adam to the Ninth Judicial District,” Gov. Tim Walz said in a release announcing the appointments. “Her years of service as a public servant and her dedication to the people of northwestern Minnesota will make her an excellent addition to the bench,” said Gov. Walz during the announcement.

Adam is currently serving in her second term as Itasca County’s chief attorney.
