Fire damages Marshall Township home and garage
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Crews were called to a house fire in Marshall Township on Wednesday night. The fire was at a home on the 400 block of McKean Drive in Marshall Township. There is major damage to the house's garage, which is where firefighters believe the blaze started. The call came in at around 9 p.m. One person is being evaluated, but the extent of their injuries is not known at this time. The fire marshal is now investigating. The cause of the fire is not known.
Stowe Township store shut down due to lack of permit, hot water, and other health risks
STOWE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - An establishment in Stowe Township is being forced to close by the Allegheny County Health Department for a myriad of reasons. "Cravingz" on Broadway Avenue was operating without a permit when inspectors arrived to check the building. Once inside, they found several violations including those preparing food had been smoking, a lot of the food preparation and cooking equipment was heavily soiled, cigarette butts were found inside the handwashing station in the kitchen, and the dumpster was "overflowing" with garbage according to the report. They also found that there was no hot water in the building and a total of one restroom for both staff and customers. Cravingz is now closed until further notice and will not be allowed to reopen until they obtain a permit, correct several things along with what was listed above, and submit plans for health and safety.

Florida man charged with manslaughter in brother's death arrested in Pittsburgh area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A Florida man charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of his brother was arrested in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The Cape Coral Police Department said in a post on Facebook that John Tolbert was arrested on Tuesday after a traffic stop by Pennsylvania State Police troopers. He faces a manslaughter with a weapon charge out of Cape Coral. Cape Coral police said in the Facebook post that officers with the department were called to a home in Northwest Cape Coral for reports of a patient in cardiac arrest on April 16. When first responders arrived at the home, they found Francis Tolbert with a "very faint pulse." He was bleeding from the back of his head from "unknown causes at that point," the police's Facebook post said. He was pronounced dead shortly after. Investigating officers found a shell case near the victim, leading police to believe "the victim's injuries were not from a medical event," according to the Facebook post. The medical examiner found a bullet fragment in the victim's head, and John Tolbert was named a "person of interest" in his brother's death, police said on Facebook. He will be extradited to Florida to face charges.
