SHARP COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - A man is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck in Sharp County on Saturday evening. Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell told K8 News the crash happened on State Highway 175 North outside of Hardy around 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

Fire department hosts car show to raise money for new equipment
ASH FLAT, Ark. (KAIT) - A Northeast Arkansas fire department held a car show fundraiser to try and purchase new equipment. The Ash Flat Fire Department held its inaugural classic car show at the city’s veteran memorial. Different cars by year and specialty classes were able to be entered.

West Plains man sentenced to prison for illegally harvesting trees in national forest
A West Plains, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court for illegally harvesting and stealing trees from Mark Twain National Forest. Justin Lee Massey, 40, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Roseann Ketchmark to two years and six months in federal prison without parole. The court ordered the federal sentence to be served consecutively to the unrelated state criminal convictions for which Massey is currently incarcerated. The court also ordered Massey to pay $30,000 in restitution to the U.S. Forest Service and to forfeit to the government $30,000, which represents the proceeds of his theft.

The search for justice by victims of an alleged Missouri con man who has spent the last few years scamming victims out of their hard-earned money is ongoing. Brian “Eddie” Sides of Branson, Missouri, is now facing multiple lawsuits and criminal charges following his abandonment of Whispering Oaks Luxury RV Park in Baxter County. Sides purchased the RV property alongside Duane and Stephanie Smith, a Twin Lakes couple who allege that Sides pitched them on the creation of the RV Park as a retirement investment.

An angler from Columbia, Missouri, named Stan (no last name provided) landed this nice 24-inch brown trout on the White River near Calico Rock, fishing out of Jenkins Fishing Service and Motel. Conditions have been near perfect on the river, according to Dave McCulley, who runs the resort. Anglers have been catching numerous brown trout of 18 inches or more in length, including one that was 26 inches, and rainbows are also biting nicely.
