Mason City man killed in car/semi collision on I-35
CERRO GORDO COUNTY, Iowa - One person is dead after a car and semi collided Saturday night on Interstate 35 in North Iowa. The State Patrol says the crash happened around 11:19 pm near mile marker 194 in Cerro Gordo County. The crash report says a car diven by Glen Evan Hemming, 56 of Mason City, was going north in the southbound lanes of I-35 when it smashed into a southbound semi driven by Hussein Ali Haidar, 40 of Burnsville, Minnesota.

Tracking an active weather pattern for second half of weekend
Saturday has been pretty dry so far but warm and a little windy. With the cloud cover in place, the severe weather threat has been kept farther to the south, away from our viewing area. While any thunderstorms that may occur later in the evening and overnight into Sunday should remain below severe limits, there could be some isolated hail and damaging wind gusts in a few of our north Iowa counties. Widespread rain and an isolated severe threat return to the entire viewing area on Sunday as a warm front passes by to our south. We'll dry out a bit starting on Monday and warm back up to the 70s by Tuesday but more chances of rain and cooler temperatures continue through midweek.

Collision Tuesday afternoon near Clear Lake severely damages both vehicles
CLEAR LAKE, Iowa - Only minor injuries are reported after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in Cerro Gordo County. The Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the intersection of 255th Street and Jonquil Avenue at 3:53 pm.
