Police: Downey man injured when pickup truck collides with parked freight train
Idaho State Police are investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on April 20, 2024, at approximately 9:13 P.M. on State Highway 40 at US Highway 91 in Downey. A 54-year-old male from Downey was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado eastbound on SH40 when the vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a parked train.

Musicians take center stage at Bennett Cup
Preston held the 84th annual Bennett Cup music competition on Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18 at the Preston High School Auditorium. The competition began in 1940 when Floyd and Barbara Bennett began sponsoring it to benefit aspiring young musicians in the community. Since 1994 when the Bennetts retired, the event has been sponsored by the Bennett Cup Committee.
