Syracuse restaurant known for its fresh lobster has closed for good
Syracuse, N.Y. — A Westcott Street restaurant known for everything lobster announced this morning that it has closed for good. Lobster Babe, a mostly take-out seafood restaurant that has operated at 466 Westcott St. since late 2022, had closed in November. Owner Danielle Mercuri said at the time that she hoped to reopen this spring. This morning, Mercuri said Lobster Babe would not reopen.

Trial begins for Syracuse man accused of killing Baby Dior
Syracuse, N.Y. – A trial for a Syracuse man accused of fatally shooting 11-month-old Dior Harris in 2021 started Monday with jury selection. Jesse D. Outley, 27, was the second person charged with participating in the drive-by shooting in the 300 block of Grant Avenue that killed Baby Dior and left a 3-year-old girl and an 8-year-old girl injured on April 11, 2021.
