SEASIDE — Alice Lane has been around a block or two — cleaning them, that is. She can often be found walking around the city with gloves and a plastic bag, picking up trash and litter along sidewalks and roads.
Unoccupied school bus crash
Update posted May 1Oregon State Police have released details of a crash along Highway 101 at Rockaway Beach involving an unoccupied school bus April 30. Vehicle one, a White 1993 Ford Ranger, was traveling northbound. Vehicle two, a yellow 2016 Thomas School Bus, was unoccupied and parked on the shoulder of the highway. The driver of the Ford Ranger, identified as Jonathon Christian Jones, 57, of Rockaway Beach, stated he fell asleep. The Ford Ranger drove into the unoccupied school bus. Coast Guard rescues man from cruise ship off Oregon Coast
A U.S. Coast Guard aircrew from Astoria rescued an injured passenger from a cruise ship far off the coast of Oregon on Thursday. The 65-year-old man had received an injury a few days prior and needed higher medical care. He was on board the Koningsdam, which was on its way from Hawaii to Victoria, Canada.
