A Rice Lake man is facing decades in prison if convicted of charges filed against him after police say they seized more than $15,000 worth of methamphetamine during a drug bust at his residence. Scout Troop 28 bestows Eagle rank to two scouts
Scout Troop 28, from St. Joseph Catholic Church, recently awarded the highest scout rank of Eagle to TJ Olsen and Luke Watrud during an Eagle Court of Honor. Both young men began as Cub Scouts in their early elementary school years and continued with the program through their senior year in high school. To earn Eagle Scout, each is required to complete a minimum of 21 merit badges and to lead younger scouts during an approved project in the community. Watrud’s project consisted of washing and repainting the archway at St. Joe's Cemetery on South Main Street in Rice Lake and cleaning gravestones. Olsen’s project was to clean up underbrush and rebuild the picnic tables on Scout Island off Hospital Point in Rice Lake. By leading younger scouts on a multilevel project, both young men used their leadership skills they acquired while in Scouts to successfully complete the projects in a timely manner and within budget and guidelines.
