COOPERSTOWN — Dr. Brandon Greene has been named the new chief of pediatrics for Bassett Healthcare Network. Greene joined Bassett in 2022, serving as the director of inpatient pediatrics and practicing as an inpatient pediatric hospitalist. Greene also served as pediatric clerkship director for the Columbia-Bassett Medical School Program, helping to instruct medical students during their clinical rotations in Cooperstown.

Middleburgh’s Matt Sloane Named NYS Principal of the Year. Matt Sloane is in his sixth year as the principal of the junior/senior high school at Middleburgh Central School and he’s being recognized for some of the unique ways he has connected with staff and students, while implementing changes to the educational process. Sloane has been named New York State Secondary Principal of the Year. He goes through the learning experience by shadowing students in class and he has developed a more consistent language used by teachers to students.
