NWS confirms 6 tornadoes hit northwest Louisiana and southern Arkansas
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — The storms that struck the ArkLaTex on Sunday (April 28) spawned four EF-1 and two EF-0 tornadoes, preliminary storm damage surveys show. The National Weather Service office in Shreveport says the outbreak began with an EF-1 in Shreveport that caused damage at Southwood High School and in the surrounding area.

Bossier police searching for juvenile after shooting, chase
BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Bossier police are searching for a juvenile who escaped after shooting suspects led officers on a chase into DeSoto parish Sunday. Authorities said around 2 p.m., several suspects approached a juvenile outside of a home on the 3000 block of Oliver St. in Bossier City and opened fire. When police arrived, the suspects reportedly got in a car and sped away, leading officers on a high-speed chase down I-49 into DeSoto Parish.

Mayor's Office issues what to know following thunderstorms
A severe thunderstorm hit Shreveport and several surrounding areas on Sunday evening, causing several power outages, fallen limbs and other damages. In a press release, Mayor Tom Arceneaux said that despite the challenges brought by Sunday's inclement weather Government Plaza is still open to the public. While several phone lines are currently down, the press release reads, the city is actively working to restore them to full functionality as soon as possible.
