CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) - UPDATE: 911 officials confirm that Route 50 westbound is now open. The road was cleared and opened shortly after 10:20 P.M. They add that the patient was taken by ambulance to United Hospital Center after the accident - the patient’s condition is unclear at this time.

Ritchie’s Sydney Kopshina sets school record in pole vault
PARKERSBURG – Track is not necessarily Sydney Kopshina’s primary sport. Which makes what she is doing as a pole vaulter even more impressive. Friday at the Erickson Invitational, the senior from Ritchie County broke the school record formerly owned by Parkersburg South pole vaulting coach Kelli Barker. Kopshina cleared the bar with a winning height of 11 feet, 1.25 inches.
