SUBURY — A Northumberland County man has been sentenced to 1 to 5 years in prison for providing the fentanyl that killed his brother. Christopher Payne, 22, of Mount Carmel, apologized before being sentenced Monday in county court on a charge of involuntary manslaughter to which he had pleaded guilty in February.

Evicted tenant allegedly steals rental unit appliances
Mifflinburg, Pa. — A woman who was evicted from a rental unit in West Buffalo Township is accused of stealing the appliances and selling them on social media. Tammy Lee Stuck, 54, of Mifflinburg was charged after the landlord notified state police at Milton on April 2 of the alleged theft. The landlord evicted Stuck on April 1. Shamokin, Pa. — Motorists are advised that Route 61 is closed in both directions between Route 2020 (Mountain Road) and Route 487 in Ralpho Township, north of Shamokin Borough, Northumberland County, due to a vehicle crash with downed utilities. A detour using Mountain Road, Route 54, and Route 61 is in place.
