Falls man accused of stabbing dog. Here's what he says happened
A Falls Township man who alleges he was attempting to teach his dog not to fear knives is accused of stabbing another dog that apparently was attempting to protect the animal. Dashawn Journigan, 32, was arraigned earlier this month on a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals and a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals. He is free on unsecured bail.

NEPA man sentenced for fatal car crash in Lackawanna County
A Lackawanna County man has been sentenced to 1 to 4 years in prison after causing a crash that killed one person in July of 2021. James Gerrity of Dunmore, was convicted for crossing over a median and hitting Mary and Lou Radell on State Route 6 in Wayne County. Mary Radell survived, but Lou Radell died from his injuries while being operated on at the hospital. Gerrity was sentenced to 12 months to 48 months in Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of homicide by vehicle, one count of aggravated assault by vehicle, and one count of involuntary manslaughter.

SCOTT TWP. — Police in Scott Township, Columbia County, recovered a firearm reportedly stolen in Wilkes-Barre during a traffic stop last weekend. A loaded 9mm handgun was found under the seat of a vehicle stopped during a police enforcement operation during the annual Bloomsburg block party on April 20.
