NEWTON, NJ—A Halsted Middle School student received a “Positive Ticket” from the Newton Police Department, the first one for April. According to Assistant Principal, Angela Dunbar, Tyler Marion received the positive ticket from School Resource Officer Justin Bellis. Warren County, NJ – The federal Veterans Administration (VA) has announced they are establishing a Vet Center Outstation in Hackettstown and a Vet Center Community Access Point in Morristown. These developments come after a significant effort from local leaders. Assemblywoman Fantasia, formerly a Sussex County Board of Commissioners member, supported a resolution in 2021 urging the creation of a Vet Center in Northwestern New Jersey. A Pike County man allegedly stabbed his grandmother, set her on fire and told Pennsylvania State Police troopers that he believed that she was the devil. George F. Sisco, 28, of Milford, is charged with criminal homicide in the death of Margie S. Finlay, 67, of Milford, according to a news release from PSP Troop R.

SPARTA, NJ – The township’s animal control officer, Don Critchlaw was recognized at the township council meeting on Tuesday during Police Chief Jeff McCarrick’s report in honor of National Animal Control Officers Week.
