Murphy Orchard in Marionville, Mo. has reported 60-80% crop loss on this year’s peaches. Fortunately, they say their other crops escaped the frost unharmed.

You don’t want to miss the inaugural Spring River Pioneer Days happening May 31st through June 2nd in Verona, MO!!. The event will kick off Friday evening at 6pm to 10pm with a street dance and vendors of all kinds, then Saturday morning at 7am there will be a Flag ceremony then Pancake feed to follow, and for entertainment we will have gun fighters, stagecoach rides, cowboy poets and music, the Red Bandanna Dulcimers, face painter, food trucks and craft vendors there will also be a mountain man village with trader tent and pioneer village for those that want to learn a little history. There will be tomahawks as well. We are going to have a bank robbery in the evening at 5:00pm and stories, S’mores by the campfire with our actors, plus if all goes well entertainment for the kids maybe a petting zoo, Period games. Sunday we will have cowboy church at 10am to 11. All kinds of fun to be had by everyone involved or if your just out for the day. Plus a murder mystery may be taking place as well!

NIXA, Mo. (KY3) - A man from Nixa pleaded guilty in court last week for holding a hatchet to his mother’s head on New Year’s Day 2023. According to court records, on April 26, Simon Scholz pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon and kidnapping. He gets probation and a deferred sentence and will have a formal sentence hearing on June 26.
