Propane tank catches fire after lightning strike in Dittmer, Missouri
DITTMER, Mo. — A propane tank caught fire Sunday morning after it was struck by lightning in Dittmer, Missouri, the property owner told 5 On Your Side. According to the property owner, firefighters evacuated the area while they worked to extinguish the fire at the 8800 block of Tranquil Drive. As of 6:45 a.m., firefighters were still on the scene working the fire.
Suspect fatally shot by St. Louis officer in Jefferson County identified
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Police are investigating after a suspect was shot during a pursuit from St. Louis into Imperial, Missouri, Thursday morning. According to a post on X, officers with St. Louis Metropolitan Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting, located in the 1100 block of Westward Trails. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, this started as a pursuit in the City of St. Louis. The suspect fled towards Imperial, where the pursuit ended.
Fire destroys Jefferson County restaurant
DE SOTO, Mo. — A fire destroyed a restaurant in De Soto early Sunday morning. No injuries were reported, De Soto Fire Chief Tony Ochoa said. He said the De Soto Fire Department got a call at 5:55 a.m. about the fire at Junction Cafe, 106 S. Main St., and when the first crews arrived, flames were coming from the back of the building, and heavy smoke was throughout the restaurant. Firefighters attacked the fire from the back of the building and by entering the front of the building.
