3 arrested in Athens, accused of attempting to hide meth
ATHENS, Texas (KLTV) - Deputies arrested three people after finding clear plastic baggies of a “crystal-like substance” believed to be meth. The first arrest took place on Emma Street near Blake Street, when deputies saw a man drop a clear glass pipe and a black container that, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, he had been trying to hide by tucking up under his arm. Deputies said the container had two plastic baggies with a “substantial” amount of a “clear crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.” The man, identified as Kenneth Earl Vess Sr., 59, of Murchison, was booked into the Henderson County Jail. He was charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, with total bond set at $120,000.
