Friday Forecast: Tornado watch until 11 PM for parts of East Texas

A tornado watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Friday for Franklin, Harrison, Henderson, Anderson, Van Zandt, Rains, Hopkins, Upshur, Wood, Smith, Gregg, Cass, Marion, Morris, Camp and Titus counties.

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain and storms. A few strong to severe storms are possible, with large hail and damaging winds as the main threats. A tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Highs in the low-80s. Wind: S 20 mph, gusting to 35 mph at times.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain and storms early. Lows in the low-70s. Wind: S 15-20 mph, gusting to 30 mph at times.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain and storms late. Highs in the mid-to-upper-80s. Wind: S 20-25 mph, gusting to 40 mph at times.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with a 70% chance of rain and storms. A few strong to severe storms are possible, but widespread severe weather is not expected. Low: 72. High: 79. Wind: S 20-25 mph, gusting to 40 mph at times.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of rain and storms. Low: 69. High: 80. Wind: S 10-15 mph, gusting to 25 mph at times.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain and storms. Low: 67. High: 85. Wind: S 10 mph.

WEDNESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds with a 20% chance of rain and storms. Low: 68. High: 86. Wind: SE 10-15 mph.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain and storms. Low: 69. High: 83. Wind: SE 10-15 mph.
