Sac and Fox Nation Breaks Ground With New Trad’n Post
A cornfield on the west edge of Reserve is taking on a new life. The Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska Tribal Council hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on April 10 for a new convenience store. This new setting will retain the Trad’n Post name while providing upgraded access and additional food choices at this location on the north side of Highway 73.
Tribe breaks ground on Gaia Prairie Band
A groundbreaking ceremony was held last Friday for a new 40,000-square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility, Gaia Prairie Band, east of U.S. Highway 75 on 150th Road. The new business, which will initially employ about 20 people when it opens early next year, will produce 100 percent sustainable paper goods, including cups, straws and lids, according to Jacob Wamego, President and CEO of Prairie Band, LLC.

Hiawatha, Kansas. — April 16, 2024 — 11-year-old Kansas student, Madeline Aller, qualified to compete in the 2024 National Memory Master Competition for Classical Conversations students. The competition is designed to challenge students’ memorization and public speaking skills by encouraging them to recite information from their Foundations curriculum across seven subjects, including history, geography, English, grammar, Latin, math and science.
