Crews battle house fire in Lansford
LANSFORD, Pa. - Crews battled a house fire in Carbon County Wednesday. It broke out shortly after 5 p.m. at the 200 block of East Abbott Street in Lansford, according to county dispatchers. No word yet on if anybody was injured or what may have caused the fire.

More than 30 years after an elderly woman was stabbed to death inside her Lehigh Valley home, an arrest has been made in her murder. On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan announced homicide and burglary charges against Michael Breisch, now 65, in the 1989 murder of 78-year-old Rose Hnath.

New court date set for Pottsville brew pub owner over free beer event citations
POTTSVILLE — The owner of Black Rock Brewing Co. has a new court date for the three citations filed against him by the city regarding his free beer event held March 16. Bobby Weaver’s summary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, in Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley’s courtroom, Pottsville. A prior date in April was postponed because of a scheduling conflict with Weaver’s lawyer.
