An excavation crew unearthed human remains from a home in the Hudson Valley last week — igniting and quickly destroying a town’s hopes to finally solve a decades-old missing persons case, police said Thursday. The skeleton was found April 16 by a crew that was preparing for a new home build in the town of Patterson, according to the New York State Police. The badly decomposed body offered little clues to the person’s identity, but investigators confirmed that it was not that of that of Robin Murphy, who mysteriously vanished on April 9, 1995 at age 17. Rolison summons fire department
POUGHKEEPSIE – Senator Rob Rolison, a retired police detective and former Croft Corners Fire Department member in the Town of Poughkeepsie still responds to fires. While picking up roadside trash for Earth Day on Tuesday, the senator responded to a large plume of black smoke coming from a fenced-in backyard on North White Street. Unable to determine the source, the former firefighter called city 911 to report the obvious fire.

Newburgh fire leaves more than a dozen homeless
NEWBURGH- A Saturday fire at 89 Overlook Place in the City of Newburgh advanced to multiple alarms and destroyed a building leaving more than a dozen people homeless. The Red Cross was called to provide support to the families that were displaced. The cause of the fire is unknown.
