Garage at residential home on Sixth Street suffers damage in Sunday morning fire
QUINCY — An attached garage suffered damage in a Sunday morning fire at a two-story residential home on the city’s south side. The Quincy Fire Department was alerted at 10:35 a.m. Sunday to a house fire at 725 S. Sixth. The first crew arrived on the scene at 10:39 a.m. and observed smoke coming from the eaves of the single-car attached garage. A hose line was deployed as the second fire truck and assistant chief arrived.
Missouri Man Sentenced to 60 Months for Meth Distribution in Central Illinois
A Missouri man from Chillicothe, Scott Young, 37, was handed a 60-month prison sentence on April 25th for pushing meth in the Land of Lincoln. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of Illinois, Young was busted distributing the narcotic on two separate occasions back in 2019.

Mark Twain Chorale to hold spring concert May 6 at Fifth Street Baptist Church in Hannibal
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Mark Twain Chorale will present its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 6, in the auditorium of Fifth Street Baptist Church, 111 N. Fifth. The concert, which has a theme of “Treasures from the Homelands,” is under the direction of Allen Means and accompanied by Alyssa Pyne.
