Goffenas’ new Ashley Furniture store opens in Troy
Members of the Goffena family and city of Troy officials, as well the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and its ambassadors, celebrate cutting the ribbon on the new Ashley Furniture store at 1831 Towne Park Drive, Troy, on Thursday. The grand opening will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday with food trucks, ice cream and giveaways. The regular hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Matt Goffena and his sons, Drew and Evan, are the fourth generation owners of the family furniture business that includes stores in Sidney, Dayton and Lima as well as the Troy location.
Incumbent Roskowske wins Winfield runoff election Tuesday
WINFIELD, Mo. — Following a runoff election Tuesday, Winfield voters chose to reelect Ward 1 Alderman Robert Roskowske III for another term. Lincoln County Clerk's Office reported Tuesday night that Roskowske received 64 of 104 total votes cast, or 61.54% of the votes. His challenger, Herb Crosby, received 40 votes, or 38.46%.
Three Arrested in Murder of Pleasant Hill Park Custodian, Love Triangle Alleged as Motive
The murder of Santiago Jacobo, a 37-year-old custodian at Pleasant Hill Park, has led to the arrest of three suspects after an intensive three-month investigation. Jacobo, a resident of Pittsburg, CA, was found stabbed to death on February 10, following his shift at the park. His wife, after growing concerned with his delayed return, found his body and called 911, as reported by Hoodline.
