Trenton, Princeton residents arrested by local authorities
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of two local and area residents on April 22. The Trenton Police Department apprehended Taylor Scott Groves, a 21-year-old from Trenton, for felony resisting arrest. This charge stemmed from an incident where Groves allegedly fled from police, significantly risking serious injury or death to others. Additionally, he faces misdemeanors for driving while his license was revoked or suspended—his second or third such offense—and for operating a motor vehicle recklessly. The charges also include operating a motorcycle without a valid license, failing to register a motor vehicle, and driving without maintaining the required financial responsibility for a second or subsequent time. Groves’ bond is set at $25,000, payable in cash only. His court appearance is scheduled for May 14 in the Associate Division of the Grundy County Circuit Court.

Agenda set for Chillicothe City Council with four ordinances on tap
The Chillicothe City Council will consider four ordinances on April 29. The meeting will take place at Chillicothe City Hall at 5:30 p.m. One ordinance proposes to accept the lowest and most responsible bid for three years of HVAC maintenance. Another aims to approve a lease agreement with Grand River Entertainment for the use of Shaffer Memorial Park in 2024.
