Isabella man charged with stealing backhoe
On April 23, Jerald Smith, of Isabella, was arraigned on a class D felony charge of stealing ($750 or more) and ordered to return to court at 9 a.m. June 11 for a criminal setting. The charges are in connection with allegations that Smith took a tractor that did not belong to him.
Noel Cole sentenced to 4 years in prison for resisting arrest, assault
Noel Cole, 48, of Theodosia, pleaded guilty pursuant to a plea agreement with the state in multiple cases April 3 before Circuit Judge Craig Carter. In one case, Cole pleaded guilty to felony resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. In another case, he pleaded guilty to the amended misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault and another felony resisting arrest charge. In the third and fourth cases, he pleaded guilty to failing to appear in court for a scheduled trial.
