POCATELLO — A man was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 86 in north Pocatello just west of the Flying Y interchange on Friday afternoon. I didn’t anticipate living in Southeast Idaho for long when my moving van rolled into Pocatello in the summer of 2001. But I quickly discovered that my new home had some unique assets – including outstanding access to sagebrush-covered foothills, fir forests, riparian meadows and miles of trails – and I could never bring myself to leave. My boss at the time also introduced me to some terrific fisheries within the region, including the Upper Portneuf River and the Black Canyon of the Bear River. I was hooked by our open spaces.

Pocatello Hosts Annual Environmental Fair
It was a chilly day to be out in the environment at the annual Pocatello Environmental Fair. Dozens of agencies were represented with booths lining Lookout Point and North Garfield Avenue Saturday morning. Many of the booths offered educational activities for people to do and free items like plant starters for people to take home. Many city departments were represented like the water department, the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, police, and fire departments.
