Police release name of 57-year-old bicyclist who died after failing to stop at sign
Police have identified the bicyclist who died in a crash near Felton on Friday as 57-year-old Felton resident Robert Spencer Jr. Spencer did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Logan and Willow Grove roads, according to Delaware State Police, and rode into the path of a Chevrolet Tahoe. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown named one of '27 Critical Access Hospitals to Know'
University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown was recently named in Becker’s Hospital Review as one of “27 Critical Access Hospitals to Know.” The Becker’s listing noted the Chestertown hospital is the first in the state to receive a Maryland Rural Hospital designation, thanks to its geriatric emergency department accreditation, its designation as an Age Friendly Health System and its membership in Healthy People 2030. Also cited were the hospital’s Shore Community Outreach Team, its free community health education classes, and its new remote patient monitoring program, which gives medical providers access to patients’ daily health data to help them maintain their best health at home.

Dover man charged with arson after setting house ablaze, police say
A Dover man has been charged with a single count of arson for a Saturday night house fire in the city, police said. First responders from Dover Fire Department and Dover Police Department were called to the 900 block of Schoolhouse Lane about 10:15 p.m. Saturday for reports of the blaze. There, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

Hartly man charged following roadway altercation
HARTLY, Del. – A Smyrna man was arrested Thursday afternoon, after police say he brandished a gun at two men in Hartly. Around 12:16 p.m., Delaware State Police troopers responded to Arthursville Road, near Main Street, for a report of aggravated menacing. When troopers arrived, they were told that two men had been traveling northbound, leaving a construction site. Police say a blue car was driving the wrong way toward them, and stopped in front of their vehicle.
