The shooting death of a Peoria man by a Chillicothe police officer has been deemed "legally justified," according to a report released Tuesday by the Peoria County State's Attorney. South Peoria house a total loss after fire late Monday night, department says
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A 1 1/2-story home in South Peoria was demolished after a fire caused so much damage that it couldn’t be saved, the fire department said. According to Battalion Chief Larry Carter, crews were called at 11:22 p.m. to the 2900 block of West Marquette Avenue on a report of fire. When they arrived, they saw a fully engulfed house with fire showing through the roof. Extra crews were called due to the size of the blaze.

PEORIA (25News Now) - The City of Peoria is looking for ways to delay the inevitable as the current landfill is set to reach capacity by the end of the year. There are two landfills for the city and county of Peoria. The first filled up in 1998, which is when the second went into operation. Decades later, the second landfill is set to fill up by the end of 2024.

PEORIA (25News Now) - At least three people were hurt, and multiple people arrested following weekend shooting incidents in Peoria, one of which involved a stolen weapon. Two adults and one juvenile were transported to local hospitals where they are recovering from non-life-threatening wounds, according to police.
