Kicking off Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, the department’s motor officers scored big at the Grand Prairie Police Spring Classic Motorcycle Rodeo. Officer Ellington nabbed multiple accolades, including 3rd place in the Mr. Rodeo, 2nd place in the Expert Metric Division, and 1st place in the Challenge Course. On April 30, the Irving Police Department arrested 30-year-old Escarleth Mejia, accusing her of helping the suspected gunman, Hector Vicente Paguada, evade police before helping him flee the city.
