Fatal Catskill Crash: Woman ID'd As Victim On I-87
It happened around 6:40 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Greene County, in the village of Catskill, on I-87. A preliminary investigation at the scene determined that a 2004 Ford Escape was traveling northbound in the passing lane between Exit 20 (Saugerties) and Exit 21 (Catskill), when, for an unknown reason, it exited the roadway, went through the guide rail, struck an earth embankment, and overturned, New York State Police said.

Schoharie limo operator wants appeal fast-tracked by court
The man convicted of manslaughter in the 2018 Schoharie limo crash that killed 20 people is asking that an appeals court give his case priority. Nauman Hussain was found guilty in May 2023 and sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison for allowing the Ford Excursion stretch limousine to remain on the road – despite knowing that it was in bad condition. The brakes needed to be redone, and the vehicle had not been inspected.
