Heavy flooding leaves parts of Fort Scott underwater
Fort Scott, KS – Fort Scott, Kansas is hit the hardest with flooding from the weekend storms. According to city officials, most of the flooding is north of town and along Highway 54 east towards Uniontown. Most of the clean-up around town should take less than a week. Damaged roads will be repaired.
Pittsburg residents voiced their options for the expansion of the Highway 69 bypass
Pittsburg, KS – The SEK highway 69 Strategic Alliance hosted a meeting to discuss plans for the bypass on Highway 69. One option is to expand the current bypass, which many of the residents in attendance were in favor of. Another is a plan to create a new bypass west of the current one in Crawford County. K-Dot is currently looking at economic surveys to see how much of an impact each plan would have.
