Stormy Monday Morning
After a relatively quiet weekend, rain-wise, we're starting to see some action with some showers and storms heading near Breaux Bridge, extending to the south near New Iberia. These showers are expected to increase in numbers as we head into tonight, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms associated with a cold front will push into Acadiana tomorrow morning from 8-11am. We have new updates on this frontal passage, including a flood threat and a new low-level severe weather threat. We have a Slight risk (Level 2/4) for flash flooding for the entirety of Acadiana, where we could receive 3-5 inches of rain in a short period of time tomorrow morning. In addition to the flooding threat, the atmosphere for tomorrow morning looks to be favorable for some damaging wind gusts and the possibility of a tornado or two embedded in the main squall line. The arrival time of this system is somewhat troubling, right at the end of the morning commute for most.
