PA meat supplier recalls ground beef shipped to Walmart stores for E. coli concerns
HAZLE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A meat supplier in Pennsylvania is recalling more than 16,000 pounds of raw ground beef products that could be contaminated with E. coli. The announcement made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's F0od Safety and Inspection Service says the items from Cargill Meat Solutions in Hazleton were produced on April 26 and April 27 of 2024.
Teen arrested for firing gun into Luzerne County building
Police in Luzerne County arrested a 17-year-old and accused him of firing a gun into an apartment building earlier this year in Edwardsville. The bullet did not strike anyone but did hit a couch where a family was sitting. The teenager, who is charged as an adult, was identified by borough police this week as Jovan Goodwin, of Hanover Township. No one was hurt in the January 24 incident. The police charged Goodwin with offenses included aggravated assault, illegally carrying a firearm and several counts of recklessly endangering another person. A judge set his bail at $100,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing for May 14.
