Portales man sentenced to 15 years for drug trafficking charges, Roosevelt County Sheriffs’ say
PORTALES, N.M.— On Wednesday afternoon, 56-year-old Alton Pete Smith was sentenced to 15 years in prison for Trafficking Controlled Substances. In June 2021, the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office conducted a routine traffic stop on South Roosevelt Rd. 3/US Hwy 70 when they noticed Smith acting suspiciously and refusing to show vehicle documents.
