Fuel mix-up at Tennessee gas station may have damaged cars
MCEWEN, Tenn. (WSMV) – Tennessee authorities are warning drivers a fuel mix-up at a local gas station might have caused damage to their cars. Reports about “problems” with vehicles have been filed by drivers in Humphreys County after they purchased fuel at the “That Damn Store” convenience store off Highway 70 East in McEwen.
Second Dickson SRO Helps Choking Child with Heimlich Maneuver
A second School Resource Officer from the Dickson Police Department is being recognized for helping a choking student by performing the Heimlich maneuver. Lt. Jessica Blackwell of the department’s Special Services Division reports SRO Jamie Patterson was able to dislodge a fruit candy from a fifth-grader’s throat after noticing he was in distress in the cafeteria at Oakmont Elementary School Wednesday, May 15.

Ashland City Council moves forward with three options for natural gas ban
The city council voted unanimously Tuesday night to bring forward a number of ordinances designed to discourage or ban the use of natural gas in new home construction. City staff have been looking at the legal pathways for banning natural gas, which studies have shown can lead to negative health impacts, including an increased risk of childhood asthma. Natural gas is also composed primarily of methane, which contributes to global warming at a rate 82 times higher than carbon dioxide over a 20-year time frame, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
