TVA Begins Restoration Project for Transmission Towers Crossing the Tennessee River
ATHENS, Ala. — Tennessee Valley Authority will begin work starting on May 6, 2024 to perform structural restoration of eight transmission river towers. The purpose is to restore strength to the foundation piles at the base of the structures lost due to corrosion, improve the existing pile concrete encasements, and extend the life of the tower foundations.
