Huntsville State Park closes through Saturday due to flooding
Huntsville State Park announced it will be closed to the public at least through Saturday after heavy rainfall and flooding have impacted northern Harris County and Montgomery County. After initially announcing a closure for Thursday, the park sent an alert out to visitors confirming the closure would proceed through Saturday.
LIST: High water locations in southeast Texas caused by heavy rain, flooding
HOUSTON – A few high-water locations are being reported on some Houston area roads due to heavy storms, hail, flooding, and possible isolated tornadoes. We’re urging residents as well to “turn around, don’t drown” if they happen to encounter some of these roadways, but we’re also giving drivers a heads-up before heading out the door.

CONROE, Texas — Heads up to those of you who are south of Lake Conroe. Heavy rainfall in Walker County and Montgomery County could lead to significant flooding. According to the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the storms have sent a tremendous amount of rain toward Lake Conroe. The San Jacinto River Authority is currently releasing water from the lake but expects the need to increase the amount of water they’re releasing.

San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) operators are on duty at Lake Conroe. According to the National Weather Service, 17 inches of rainfall have occurred north of the Lake Conroe watershed over the last seven days. Lake Conroe is currently closed.
