SMITHLAND, Ky. -- It usually takes experience to win a state championship, but someone forgot to tell Livingston Central softball that. A team that consists of eight middle schoolers, four underclassmen, and four juniors went into the All "A" State Tournament this weekend, and never lost a game.

SMITHLAND, KY -- The Livingston Central Lady Cardinals received a well deserved sendoff on Friday morning as they boarded a bus bound for this years All 'A' State Tournament. Pride of the Lyons - Lyon County's historic run to the 2024 state championship
PADUCAH, KY — The Lyon County Lyons became immortal this past season with a historic run to the 2024 KHSAA Boy's State Championship. The Lyons defeated Harlan County 67-58 to claim their first state championship. Not only was it their first state championship, but it was just the 10th team from far west Kentucky to claim a boy's basketball state title. They were also one of the smallest schools to win a title in the modern era.
