Skies were clear and the weather was calm on Friday, but that will likely change on Saturday. By Saturday morning, the Gulf of Mexico moisture supply will have returned to the Concho Valley, and there could even be showers or thunderstorms in the area early Saturday morning, though the best chance is up toward Abilene. While an isolated shower or two is possible during the day Saturday, it’s Saturday night when forecast data suggest a line of severe storms will form somewhere near San Angelo or at least in the Concho Valley somewhere between 8pm and 11pm Saturday night. Large hail, damaging wind and even isolated tornadoes will all be possible. The storms should move east and out of the area by sunrise Sunday morning, leaving behind a nice weather day on Sunday. Temperatures this weekend are forecast to be in the upper 80’s Saturday and Sunday with overnight lows in the middle 50’s Saturday night and Sunday night.
Griffith Had Poor Test Score on Promotion Test
SAN ANGELO, TX — Travis Griffith, a candidate for police chief, garnered a low score on a promotional exam from sergeant to lieutenant, as indicated by records at the City of San Angelo. In September 2019, Griffith, alongside three peers, all sergeants with similar years of service, undertook the San Angelo Police Department Promotional Exam for Lieutenant. Defendant in Fatal Infant Heroin OD Case Dies
SAN ANGELO — Dustin Wayne Smock, a key figure in the tragic 2020 case involving the administration of heroin to an infant, has passed away, authorities confirmed Saturday. Smock, 37, who was romantically linked to Cristin Bradley, was implicated in the death of two-month-old Brixlee Marie Lee. Concho River Restocked With Channel Catfish
SAN ANGELO, TX — The Inland Fisheries San Angelo District announced today, April 26, that the Concho River in downtown San Angelo was once again stocked with Channel Catfish. Beginning on April 12, the restockings will continue biweekly after that, excluding August. The 2024 stocking schedule is set to include dates on April 12, April 26, May 10, May 24, June 7, and June 21, a special stocking on July 3 in anticipation of Independence Day, July 19, and resuming in September with stockings on the 6th and 20th.
