Rockland man grieves, Two Bridges, state review his brother’s death in Wiscasset jail
A man being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail has hung himself, in the third suicide since Sagadahoc and Lincoln counties opened the facility on Wiscasset’s Route One in 2006, authorities told Wiscasset Newspaper. TBRJ is doing an internal investigation “as (is) normal procedure for any critical incident we have in the jail,” Col. James Bailey, TBRJ’s correctional administrator, said via email April 25.

Guided hike at Tracy Shore with Coastal Rivers
Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust naturalist Sarah Gladu will lead a hike at Tracy Shore in South Bristol from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. This is the third of Coastal Rivers’ annual “Spring Saunters” series of guided hikes this season. Tracy Shore is owned by the Town of South Bristol and managed in partnership with Coastal Rivers. Three connected, looping trails wind through coastal spruce forest, past a meandering brook and rocky outcroppings draped with ferns and moss, to an overlook with sweeping views of the Damariscotta River estuary. The trail is steep in areas, and the surface is uneven with rocks and tree roots.

Rescue to release: Stranded harp seal returns to wild after recovery in Maine
PHIPPSBURG (WGME) -- A harp seal who got stranded on a beach in Cape Elizabeth last month has been released back into the wild after receiving care at Marine Mammals of Maine. The yearling harp seal was dehydrated and fighting an infection when she became stranded on March 31 on Casino Beach in Cape Elizabeth.
